Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
On November 12th Francesco Caccamo, Nick Cave, Frankie Gray, Rhiannon Henley, Cameron Kaiser, David Levy, Pat Price, Peter Price and Russell Warby will be braving the streets and spending a very cold November night sleeping in Spitalfields Market in support of Centrepoint's 2009 SLEEP OUT.
The event hopes to draw attention to the shocking numbers of homeless young people who do not have a safe place to call home this Christmas. In the 'Countdown to Christmas', Centrepoint aims to raise £276,616: the costs of Centrepoint running their services, providing food, accommodation and support to homeless young people over Christmas.
Research shows that at least 75,000 young people were at risk of homelessness last year. This Christmas Centrepoint will provide a safe home for Christmas for 779 homeless young people, helping them off the cold and dangerous streets so that they can reach their full potential. Many of the young people they support have experienced domestic abuse, family breakdown and poverty and nearly half have slept rough. Young people are at danger on the streets and in the lead up to Christmas, as the nights get colder, young people are at a greater risk from those who seek to take advantage of their vulnerability.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Centrepoint gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor us now!
Many Thanks,
Francesco Caccamo, Nick Cave, Frankie Gray, Rhiannon Henley, Cameron Kaiser, David Levy, Pat Price, Peter Price and Russell Warby
