Event: World's Big Sleep Out Chicago 2019, on 7 December 2019
WBSO Chicago
Campaign by UNICEF USA (RCN 131760110)
The World's Big Sleep Out is a one-off charity campaign with the aim to help 1 million people experiencing homelessness around the world through a global program of Sleep Out events in December 2019.

Story

On December 7, 2019, I am joining The World's Big Sleep Out by sleeping outside, overnight on DePaul University’s quad in Chicago to show solidarity and raise funds for people experiencing homelessness and displacement. While it might be uncomfortable to sleep out in the cold for one night, it’s a small sacrifice compared to the suffering that some 100 million homeless and displaced people experience around the world. It's inspiring to be part of a global event. In one night, from Chicago to London, to Manila and Mumbai, 50K people will sleep out to raise $50 million across 50+ international cities. Together, we can raise funds to help 1 million people around the world. Please donate today to help us reach our goal. Your donation will help people here in Chicago and around the world: 50% of the funds raised will go to organizations fighting homelessness internationally, including DePaul University Institute of Global Homelessness, UNICEF USA, and the Malala Fund. The other 50% will stay in Chicago to support Depaul USA and All Chicago Making Homelessness History. For more information, visit https://www.bigsleepout.com/join-a-sleep-out/chicago.
