I'm  a  student  at  the  University  of Warwick  and have  decided to take on my first official Ironman, a race starting with a 3.8km swim followed by a 180km bike and ending on a 42km run. Since an early age, I have been interested in triathlons and have had aspirations to complete an Ironman, last year completing an 'unofficial' Ironman as I wasn't old enough, but now has come the time to do the real thing!!! Of course it'll be an amazing race and hopefully sunny too...maybe optimistic but I can always hope...but a lot of training and  preparation is needed so i'll be doing a few standard duathlon's and triathlon's, along with the Long Course Weekend in Wales.     

Alive and Well is a charity that provides fresh water wells in the SE region of Sierra Leone, in villages where there is desperate need and where contaminated water is the single biggest killer of young children in this area. Started by a small group of like-minded people from a wide range of professions and backgrounds all having the unifying wish to make use of the advantages and opportunities they have had to help others. So in 2009 that decided to not just raise money to aid the people of this poverty stricken country, but to try to do something about it themselves.
