Our appeal is to raise funds which will allow a major upgrade of the gastroenterology and liver ward at University Hospital Southampton, which will include improved facilities and 2 new state of the art high care areas on the ward. Our aim is to enhance the environment and facilities of the ward for the benefit of our patients with the ultimate aim of improving survival and outcomes. Liver has been one area of health that has been ignored by the politicians and the media even though it affects more of us than cancer. Obesity is on the increase and that is likely to be the biggest cause of liver diseases in near future. This ward up-gradation is just the start...SO Pleeeeeeease make it possible for the people living in the South.
We have chosen the New Forest Runs on 13th September because it gives a range of events in which the whole team can participate.
