Well, after a gruelling 3 weeks and many, many miles of cycling the Aberdeen College team finished in 9th place of the onshore teams taking part in the event! A huge well done to all involved for their efforts.
You can view the final placings at http://www.cornerstonecyclechallenge.org.uk/index.php?q=mileagecheck.
The Cycle Challenge aims to promote health and fitness while raising funds for Cornerstone through participants generating sponsorship. By taking part you can help Cornerstone to support people with disabilities to live independently, take part in activities they enjoy, get a job and make new friends.
The Cornerstone Cycle Challenge, which is in its fifth year, is a gruelling 21 day test of stamina, determination and teamwork. Teams of cyclists aim to cycle as far as they can on static bikes throughout the 21 day event.
The Challenge this year is to travel across the globe, cycling through 20 countries covering 18,000 miles following the route that Mark Beaumont used to smash the world record for cycling around the world. Teams using this route will cycle from Paris to Istanbul, Istanbul to Calcutta, Bangkok to Singapore, Perth to Brisbane, Dunedin to Auckland and San Francisco to St Augustine and Lisbon to Paris.
