I am running 26.2 miles on Sunday 19th June to raise money for Manchester's Active Community against Trafficking (ACT Group) as part of the work of STOP THE TRAFFIK to help fight human trafficking.
Trafficking is "to be deceived or taken against your will, bought sold and exploited in places like the sex industry, sweatshops, factories, circuses, for sacrificial worship, body parts, forced begging, cannabis cultivation or domestic servitude."
80% of victims are women. 50% are children.
Trafficking starts in a community and it can be stopped by a community. In Manchester our ACT group exists to help prevent human trafficking by raising awareness, campaigning to protect victims of human trafficking, and befriending survivors of trafficking.
