Jonny Wilkinson is lending his support to the Charity's campaign to raise money for a new dedicated brain cancer research unit at University College London. Jonny has been involved with the Charity for many years. He lost a member of his family to a brain tumour some time ago. He is pictured here with Neil, a brain tumour patient who died shortly after this picture was taken. Meeting Neil, who was only 12 when he died, made Jonny aware of the plight of children with this dreadful disease and he has been a supporter of the Charity ever since. Only 65% of children survive a brain tumour compared with over 80% of leukaemia patients - please act now to stop more young people and children dying by donating much needed funds to help find a cure. Did you know that: • 40% of all cancer deaths in children are from a brain tumour • Brain tumours cause more deaths among children and those under 40 than any other cancer • It takes longer to diagnose a child with a brain tumour in the UK than in North America and other European countries Already children have benefited from projects funded by SDBTT through improved treatment resulting in a better long-term quality of life. First class research can transform the life chances of children with a brain tumour but there is still so much to do. Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust needs to raise £1 million to set up the first dedicated Brain Cancer Research Unit in London. Your donation will help us to support leading scientists to • Find out more about what causes brain tumours in children • Help us understand how these brain tumours develop • Develop new treatments to improve the survival chances and quality of life for children Thank you for reading this. Please make an on-line donation TODAY. Together we can beat this disease.
