UPDATE: I DUN IT!!!!

I am not going to bore you with all the details, but my jump was (clearly) successful and perhaps one of the most exhilarating things I have ever done. A day of intense ground training and two early morning starts, six o’clock – which should be banned during half term – certainly paid off as at midday I took that leap of faith and sent myself hurtling towards the Earth, with little more than a large duvet cover to place my trust in. The initial jump is certainly the hardest, most terrifying bit, but once you have left the plane it is the most incredible experience, and one that I hope to repeat sometime.

Anyway, I said I wouldn’t bore you with the details, so to prove I have actually ‘dun it’ I have uploaded the jump photos here:

I have also uploaded the video taken from my instructor’s headcam here:

I have also got another much better video, but am having trouble uploading it.

Once again, thank you for your support,

Regards,

Adam Renak

Soon after the 30th October 2009, I will be jumping solo from 15,000 feet out of a plane, with only a glorified duvet cover stopping me from crashing to the ground, to raise money for Chickenshed.

Chickenshed is a theatre company. They work using an inclusive creative process which means everyone is welcome, and everyone is valued. Not many places are for everyone and anyone - so a lot of people who find themselves unwelcome elsewhere in the world, come to Chickenshed. Chickenshed run Children's and Youth Theatre workshops for 600 people, education courses for over 100 students, community outreach projects and a network of satellite 'Sheds' across the country (and one in Russia) so even more can benefit. Every extraordinary piece of theatre created at Chickenshed shouts out the same thing: anyone can thrive in an environment where everyone in welcome.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Chickenshed gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

£15 would go a long way, but any donation is greatly received. Thankyou for your support.

Adam
