"Have you got the X-Factor?"
For me, the answer is a definite NO! I'll be first to hold my hands up and admit...I CAN'T SING. In fact, getting up on a stage and singing in front of an audience of thousands, whilst being filmed for national tv, pretty much sums up my worst nightmare!
But, i WOULD do it for charity! And so, this idea was born...
UPDATE: I WILL be auditioning this Sun…(!)
Although I haven't made the target(s)...I WILL be auditioning this weekend. The audition on Sun is in front of member's of the production company...they then call/email to invite you back for the live show, in front of the celeb. judges (should you be successful).
It's unlikely that I'll reach my target(s) before Sun (if ever!). So, my plan is to go to this pre-audition...where I undoubtedly will fail miserably. Hopefully, this will satisfy everyone who has donated to date (whilst minimising the humiliation for me!).
However, should I get through...(HA!)...then, I will keep the fundraising going...and if i do make the £3000 mark...then I will go to the LIVE show...and seriously humiliate myself! The live show auditions take place in the summer (apparently), so it gives me more time to raise the money!...I don't want to do the live audition...but I do want to raise a decent amount for charity...
EITHER WAY, I WILL BE AUDITIONING AND I WILL BE EMBARASSING MYSELF!
SO PLEASE, DONATE NOW AND HAVE A LAUGH AT MY EXPENSE :)
The three charities I've chosen to support reflect my environmental and humanitarian interests. Combined, they serve to protect the poverty-stricken, the world's oceans and the world's rainforests:
This page is raising money for AMREF - the African Medical and Research Foundation: this is Africa's leading health organisation and they ensure that communities have the knowledge, skills and means to maintain their good health and break the cycle of poor health and poverty. They reach, respect and become part of communities and help them make change from within (please visit www.amref.org for more info).
The other two charities I'm supporting are:
(2) SOS - the Sumatran Orangutan Society: dedicated to the conservation of Sumatran orangutans and their forest home. Their international branches raise awareness of the threats facing wild orangutans, and raise funds to support grassroots conservation projects in Sumatra. Together with a team of committed Indonesian conservationists, they work with local communities living alongside orangutan habitat. They plant trees to restore damaged ecosystems and provide training to help the local people work towards a more sustainable future for their forests (please visit www.orangutans-sos.org for more info).
Donations for this charity can be made at my Just Giving page:

(3) WDCS - the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society: the global voice for the protection of cetaceans and their environment (please visit www.wdcs.org for more info).
