Thank you for taking time to view my page. I am running the London Marathon in memory of my Son Jacob.
One of the best days of my life was 14th February 2009, my Wedding Day. It was special because our little boy Jacob, though not yet born, also shared it with us, and that is a lovely memory. Sadly, Jacob died on 23rd April 2009. He had appeared perfectly healthy up until the 20 week scan but we received the devastating news that he had a very serious brain abnormality. We made a decision, it was so hard. The decision was for Jacob. Some may have made a different decision. To know that you are not the only people going through the same problems helps. This is the very essence of ARC and this is the Charity we have chosen. They will support you no matter what you decide because the people that give their time to the Charity have often experienced those decisions. The fundraising is required because the literature ARC produces does not stretch to all Hospital Trusts, it didn't to ours. They also need funds to help train health professionals and lobby Parliament.
I hope you find this cause worth championing. We do !!

Training going well. Had a few niggles but so far so good. Entered the Llanelli Half Marathon on 7th March so should provide a good tester run. Thanks for the support so far. Fundraising ideas in the pipeline so will keep you posted.
10th March 2010
The Half Marathon went well and was able to run through the calf injury,so I am feeling positive. Again, thanks for the pledges and donations. Ade.
16th April 2010
Training hit a bit of a slump since the calf has not been so good. However, it's feeling a little better over the last day or so, hopefully it should hold out for race day. Cheers Ade.
20th April
I have been to the doctors and getting pain relief, also off to the sports physiotherapist today since the injury is not so good. I will need more pain relief if I don't finish (due to the Wife)!!!!
21st April
Visited the physio yesterday, he was positive that I will be ok. (Can you tell that the Wife writes my messages?) Anyway, I am sure it will be painfull, but worth it!
27th April
Phew, it's over! Can't walk, but the time was okay - 3.39. Great day. Thanks for all the support. Emma will be entering next year (not that she knows yet ....ha ha...) Legs feeling a bit better today tho'. See you again in 2011, hopefully. Ade & Emma x
