Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Margaret of Scotland Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

2nd May and see there have been a few donations now but I need to keep the money coming in. Please help me to help St Margaret's and give what you can. Every penny and pound really counts and will help to inspire me to keep my training going and complete the walk in October- 6 months and counting-yikes!!!

31st of May and I had a fall and have messed up my knee and hip again! I'm not at all put off and will need to start to get out walking in June to make a start with the training. I have had a load of wine and champagne donated by my lovely uncle and along with some dolls knitted by my mum- yes KNITTED! , a couple of dinners and and over nite stay at Hilton Glasgow from Laur as well as bits and pieces from other work contacts will be raffling the lot on 15th and 16th June in the Denny Civic Theatre Dumbarton after our schools primary showcase concerts. I'm hoping that all my schools will also buy raffle tickets which I need to get to them by the end of the week-eeeekk! (didn't manage this but sponsor sheets will be appearing is schools!) I have a mate who manages a pub in Glasgow so there will definately be a kareoke nite in the next few weeks before the trip- watch this space for the date! Even if you hate kareoke come along, have a laugh and help me raise much needed funds for the hospice. Pleeeeeeezzzzzz

21st June- well the raffles raised £217 on the first concert night and £209 on the second night giving an extra £426 to my donations. Update 14th July. Getting new boots this week as mine are just a little tight AND I don't want to leave anything to chance when it comes to the walk. There has been quite an increase this week with donations but I am now close to my deadline for the trip and still about £600 short so please if you can make a donation and help me help St Margaret's . More to come on events and I have a facebook page as well at that you can check out for updates  http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Glasgow-United-Kingdom/Fundraising-for-St-Margarets-of-Scotland-Hospice-in-China-October-2009/56557126871?ref=ts

8th September- Ok just over four weeks to go now and last week the Hospice very kindly organized a photo and interview with the local paper in Dumbarton. You can read the article here; http://www.dumbartonreporter.co.uk/news/thisweek/articles/2009/09/08/391529-teacher-takes-on-china-trek/

I think a similar article will aslo be in the Clydebank Post this week too.

30th September

Wow doesn't time fly? 10 daz to go!!!!!Been laid low for almost 2 weeks with a cold/flu thing! Hopefully not H1N1!!!! Need to try to be fit to walk this weekend- probably my last chance to get a full day or two in before I go.

Donations  are coming along and although I'm going in ten days I'll still be trying to fundraise right up to Christmas to try to get as close to my £5000 target as possible. The local shops in my area have been great and have managed to gather about £70. The local church has also been fabulous and put sponsor sheets in the church as well as highlighting the trip in their church magazine. To all the many people in Old Drumchapel who have donated - thank you all very much. It's great to know I have so much support! Wish me luck:)

28th December 2009

Hi and I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! I am now finally getting round to updating the page after a really hectic few months!!! I still have some sponsor sheets to collect and have now completed my fundraising calendar for the hospice which has a dozen of the 1000 pictures I shot while on the trek! I have been really fortunate and managed to get both the printing and paper costs sponsored so that means every penny donated for calendars will go directly to the hospice with no overheads to be taken off- really delighted with that! The calendar is A5 size and has plent of places to put those all important dates for the year. We are recommending a donation of a minimum of £5 and of course will be happy to receive anything above that should people see fit!

I am now working on my next fund raiser for the hospice which will be the Kilimanjaro trek, most likely in 2011 as I will need to make sure I have raised the £3600 in sponsorship not to mention the amount of training I will need to do!!! I also plan to fund this myself ensuring that even more money goes to the hospice. Let's hope my knees hold out and I don't suffer any altitude sickness!!!!!!

Monday 29th March 2010

A huge thank you to whoever nominated me  for the Go Outdoors award which I received on Saturday from the store manager Paul. You can read the press release here http://buzzfactory.wordpress.com/2010/03/24/first-clydebank-outdoor-adventurer-of-the-year-revealed-as-new-outdoor-superstore-opens/ and I will post the link to the article I believe will be in the Clydebank post this coming week:) no link -sorry!

Some money has gone in again to the website from the calendars that were produced to support the trek just before Christmas so here I go again! I now am seriously thinking about trying to fit in the Nepal trek for the hospice this year (in october!) but it would probably mean I will need to pospone Kili till 2012 till my bank account (and knees!)recovers unless there is any kind hearted soul out there who is prepared to help sponsor me:) More to follow....................

Thank you again for all the sponsorship and support! Here's to the next one!!!!!!!!!
