Unfortunately, the training didn’t quite go to plan and I was out of action for a couple of weeks with blisters and very painful feet. However, after purchasing a FOURTH pair of trainers over the summer, I think I have finally found a pair that agree with me and I am now on the mend.
By taking part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon, I am hoping to raise money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. Many of you will know that in 1991, my sister Amber sadly died from a heart defect. Amber would have celebrated her 18 birthday on 7 September and as a special birthday present, I would like to raise money for a charity that is dedicated to providing support for children born with heart defects.
The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund helps to provide the latest medical equipment and funding for pioneering research dedicated to babies, children and teenagers born with heart defects. Amongst other worthwhile causes, this charity has helped to fund the purchase of ECMO equipment, which acts as an artificial heart and helped my sister during her short life.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for your support
Aimi xxxx
