My story

*************************************************************************************
On Sunday 27 April 2008 we completed our cycle challenge!
1656 km in 8 days!  Our route was: Bray Dunes (France/Belgium border) - Caen - St Nazaire - Perpignan - Cap Cerbere (France/Spain border).
Thank you for your donations and support!
*************************************************************************************

Following the success of last year's John 'O Groats to Land's End charity cycle, we've decided this year to do a similar cycle challenge - in France!

This year our cycle challenge will be a joint 131 Independent Commando Squadron Royal Engineers (V) and 299 Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers (V) fund-raising event.  We will be cycling the length of France: from the most northerly coastal point to the most southerly point on the Mediterranean coast.

Our route across France will be approximately 1400km and will take us via two sites of Airborne & Commando interest: Pegasus Bridge and St Nazaire.  Our cycle ride will be unsupported and we anticipate (hope!) that it will take 10 days.

For this, our second cycle challenge, we are raising money for Help for Heroes, a charity that supports service men and women injured during current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  For more information, please visit their website: www.helpforheroes.org.uk

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Help for Heroes will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you for your support!

Chris & Donald
