Story
We are profoundly humbled at the resilience and infectious optimism of one very special lady at a very difficult time in her life. We love her fold or focus mentality and her capacity to just crack on and deal with whatever curveball life decides to throw. Because of this I (Airtrek) have decided to demonstrate my feelings toward her and her amazing outlook by completing the Three Peaks 24hr Challenge over this coming weekend - Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September 2009.
The challenge:
Starting at the base of Ben Nevis Anthony "AirBurst" Behan will begin the challenge by ascending and descending the mountain (4418 ft.) within five hours. He will then be driven for seven hours to Scaffell Pike in the Lake District by his support team consisting of Anya "BumbleBee" Behan and Ed and Olly. On arrival he will then climb and descend again (3209 ft.) within five hours before travelling on the final leg of the journey to Mount Snowdon in Snowdonia National Park. Once there he will again ascend and descend the mountain (3560 ft.) within four hours to complete the challenge.
Our target is £500 so please help us. Time as you can see is not our friend so I need to move fast. Training has gone really well and I will be ready!
This is a hard challenge, but in the words of JFK, we do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
A hard challenge for a hard lady!
