Friends..... I Did it !!! I crossed the line in 4.09.12. What an amazing day. The crowds were fantastic from start to finish. The bands, the music, the sights were awsome. I started to seize up around 21 miles and really slowed down but the crowd support, particulalrly around the Embankment and Parliament Square forced me on to the end. I managed to see Jo and Emma at Canary Wharf around 18.5 miles and had a hug when I needed it most. Memories of this day will stay forever. Knees and thighs ache a bit but pain is only temporary - quitting is final... A special mention to Jo and my two, my training buddy Craig for the support and everyones text messages on way round, also Ruth B and family for getting me into this mess and coming up on the day with Jo for support. It's not too late to donate and the target is nearly there. Thanks again to everyone.......when do I tell Jo i've entered the ballot for next year?? £20 could help BAAF respond to 15 calls from families wanting to adopt a child featured in Be My Parent £5 a month could support our family finding website, www.bemyparent.org.uk £10 could support the helpline for adopted adults and birth families trying to trace relatives separated by adoption Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Association For Adoption And Fostering will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support. Andy
