Story

12 hours to go. Always the worst bit. Waiting for the start.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Yes, this is a late request, but I hope you can help.

I am running The Nike Run to the Beat half marathon on sunday 28th October, and I am fundraising for the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research charity. The reason is simple:

My brother Aidy died in 1988 aged 28 of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In 2006, my niece Nathalie, died of Leukaemia aged 20.

Prior to these deaths, my aunt and also a young cousin died of Leukaemia / Lymphoma related illnesses in the 60s. So all in all, my father has lost a sister, niece, son and grand daughter to these cancers. So, my drive to to run for this charity is obvious.

Some of you, who have received this email,  kindly donated to my failed Marathon attempt last year. So for those of you, this one is to make up for last year, in some way.

I am not looking forward to those Greenwich hills again, but it is for a good cause, and hopefully you can donate in any way possible.

Many thanks.

Alanx
