To all those who popped (or are popping) a coin into my begging bowl, especially those I don't know, thank you very much from me and Touraid. If everyone pays up I should get over the £500 target for what is a very good charity.
The motivation was invaluable on the day as I sure did suffer from 15 miles on seeing as it was my first marathon, I'm 54 years old, and ,being a late entry, marathon training only started on 25th Feb (that's 8 weeks training and one of them I was away on a skiing holiday). I do run regularly but no more than 7 miles for longer than I can remember.
I completed the first half in 2 hours 11 minutes and the second half in 2 hours 55 minutes so I think my inexperience and insufficient training (a total of 124 miles) caught up with me. It has not put me off though so I may be back with the begging bowl, but relax it won't be any time soon :)
Thanks again ever so much
