| Our personal message: |
Dear friends so after all the talk and running around the streets of London what happened on the run?
Well despite some serious hills and some even more serious rain and hail the hare and the tortoise managed the 13 gruelling miles around Derwent Water in Keswick. Bex managed a time of 2:34 and Al a time of 1:42. Although we had been warned about the hills we both almost ground to a halt on the first which included a hair pin bend just for good measure. The rain then set in ensuring that no one made it home dry, however as the brochure said it truly is one of the most scenic routes in the Lake District. And as a friend rightly said it was only the last 12 miles that were agony.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who have supported us and been so generous in their donations to our run and Afrinspire. We hope to be visiting some of Afrinspires projects early in 2008 so we will be able to update you on how your money has been used. If you would like to know more please see www.afrinspire.org.uk for more information.
There is even talk of us doing it again next year and this time looking for people to join us!!
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped to raise such a huge total for Afrinspire. Al and Bex.
