My story

 

Thanks very much for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm running the New York Marathon for the MS Society as my Dad was diagnosed with MS a few years ago.  Over 10,000 people in Scotland have MS (1 in 500) and it can affect children as young as 12.  With your help I can raise much needed funds for the MS Society and in particular Falkirk Branch who will use the money to make life a little easier for many of its members 

I have now returned from New York after completing the Marathon in 3hrs 27 mins. The conditions were excellent and the crowds were very supportive. The course itself was pretty tough with some difficult climbs throughout.  I found the last 10 miles very hard work and vowed during that time that I would not put myself through that sort of pain again...however, now that the leg pain has subsided I can now walk down the stairs properly again I am now looking forward to applying for Berlin Marathon next September and hopefully getting closer to my target time
