My story

Having conquered a fear of flying (Alec) and losing over 3stone in weight (Helen) completed a charity sky dive each in May this year.
The next challenge:
On March 28th 2012, ALEC HAWKES and HELEN AITCHISON will be starting a 12 day hike across Northern England; 190 MILES, from ST BEES on the Cumbrian coast, to ROBIN HOODS BAY in North Yorkshire. It will be a tough challenge, but hopefully rewarding. We are very much hoping to raise many more much needed funds for FOCUS 12, a very worthwhile charity.
FOCUS 12 is an abstinence based rehab facility, helping people suffering from all aspects of addiction (but primarily drug and alcohol) into recovery and giving them their lives back. They also run a very successful family support group, working with the families (children as well as parents, spouses, siblings etc) helping them to rebuild their lives.

It provides community based residential care, therapy and support to clients with drug and alcohol problems. It also provides detoxification, 8-10 week treatment programmes, Aftercare, Family Support and Parenting Groups. It is an abstinence based facility with 16 residential beds available.
