Hello,
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Myself and my buddy Peter will be taking part in the Bupa Great North Run on 5th October 2008 and hope to raise some pounds, pounding the streets of Newcastle in aid of research and support for all affected by MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS.
M.S. is a progressive lifelong condition which can be very unpredictable and debilitating. Peter's stepson Daniel was diagnosed with M.S. at just 15 years old. Being uncommon in his age group there is very little suitable support for children and teenagers with M.S. With your help, we can hopefully change this by raising awareness that children and teenagers do get M.S.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: MS Society Scotland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
My buddy's stepson Daniel wrote a story about his experiences for his Higher English this year, entitled:
"The sound of the second hand on the clock", My Story. It is very emotional, uplifting and inspirational. He and his wife are very proud of their son and feel this excellent piece of work needs to be shared. He recently agreed to put it on the MSRC website were they have an area dedicated to teenagers. You can read it at http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=show&pageid=2396
We do not want anyone to feel obliged to sponsor us, but please bear in mind that Alec and Peter doing the Great North Run at their age probably deserves a few pounds.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
Alec and Peter
