Were a couple of unfit surgeons raising valuable and much needed funds to support bringing the most advanced cancer treatments for our patients to Wessex.

We cant ride bikes, and look shocking in lycra (well Alex does anyway!), so the opportunity to help our favourite cause and embark on a two day 500 mile challenge from Southampton to Scotland WITHOUT squeezing into said high-viz material seemed perfect!

Alex is a bowel cancer surgeon and deals with the rear end, while Rowland deals with mens waterworks. So you can imagine the sort of toilet humour we'll have in the long trip ahead!

Our ageing but much loved "scrap" car has definitely seen better days and has yet to be named. Were offering the honour and privilege of the naming rights to largest donor to our team so don't be shy about giving to PLANETS!

In addition 5 other high-value donors get to nominate 2 songs each to be played during the trip! From classic drive tracks like Meat Loafs "Bat out of Hell" to the more unusual tastes like Britneys hit me..., all choices will be honoured. So when you donate mention the artist and song also and you never know - you might be a winner!

On a more serious note however, your money could not go to a better charity. Through PLANETS we have previously raised funds to bring a valuable anti-cancer treatment to the UK for the very first time, and this is now benefitting patients throughout our region. Hopefully with the funds raised we can help even more patients and in particular for the complex abdominal and pelvic cancers we deal with.
