Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. In April 2006 I will be competing in the Marathon des Sables which is a 250 km 6 day race in the Sahara Desert. With day time temperatures in excess of 40 degrees celsius, I will have to carry all of my own kit and my daily water rations.
Why am I doing this for the Royal British Legion? For years my Grandfather raised money for the Royal British Legion. As a veteran of WWII, he felt passionately that all veterans of wars should be given complete support once they got home if the injuries picked up meant that they were no longer capable of supporting themselves.
When my Gradfather died, my Grandmother picked the work he did for the Legion, not only to preserve his legacy, but also, I think, to keep his memories alive within her. My Grandmother died last September and the legacy of their work, for all the same reasons, is now mine.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Royal British Legion will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
