Nach dem erfolgreichen Berlin Marathon 2007 habe ich mich enschlossen den London Marathon 2008 zugunsten der Prostate Cancer Charity zu laufen; nicht zuletzt, weil ich am Beispiel meines Vaters in den letzten Jahren den grausamen Verlauf von Prostatakrebs und die Schwierigkeiten auch für die direkten Angehörigen beobachtet habe.
Ich bitte deshalb jeden um einen Moment des Innehaltens und Reflektierens, wie gut es den meisten von uns doch eigentlich geht (wenn man zum Beispiel gesund genug ist, einen Marathon zu laufen...). Und ich bitte um Spenden, die dringend benötigt werden, um den Betroffenen das Leben leichter zu machen und die Forschung zu finanzieren, die diesem Killer vielleicht irgendwann einmal den Garaus macht.

Hi everybody.
As most of you probably won't know, my Dad has been suffering from prostate cancer, one of the most common and most vicious killers of our modern age. I have decided to run the London Marathon 2008 for the Prostate Cancer Charity to support those who are affected directly and indirectly. I am asking all of you to support my efforts with a little (or even maybe a large) donation. Please take a few minutes to spend some thoughts on those who are not quite as lucky as most of us and make a donation online. For other ways of donating or indeed any questions just contact me.
