Story

HE'S DONE IT!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At 9am on Friday 27th. August, Duane Alexander, a 38 year old builder, from Lancaster, Lancashire, will leave Bowness-on-Solway, taking the first steps of ‘Alexander’s March’, his personal quest to help beat cancer, by raising funds for Cancer Research UK. He will be undertaking the walk along the route of Hadrian's Wall, dressed in the authentic uniform of a mid second century Roman legionnaire, complete with armour, shield, weapons and accessories of the period.

'The project has been with me for the past 14 years and, following the loss of my mum, Carol Alexander, in November 2007 after a 5-year battle with cancer, I decided that it was time to deal with this unfinished business and combine it with the opportunity to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.'

Alexander's March is also a tribute to all the other people who, like my mum, lost their fight against this disease.
