Well, we did it!!!
4 hours later, some very soggy clothes and aching thighs, me, my sister Kath and sister-in-law Gabby started out at Marple yeaterday morning and walked the Middlewood Way Back to Macclesfield (approx 10 miles)!

Every stride was worth it and we're so grateful to everyone that has given us support and donations.
To acheive a target I thought to be maybe a little ambitious has been exceded is fantastic.

Zack had his operation on August 4th and after what was a very long and tough few weeks he is recovering very well. He has been so brave.

I better dust of those walking boots ready for the big day next weekend!

Our little boy Zack was born with a condition called Coronal Craniosynostosis which means that on one side of his skull a suture has fused together and this stops his skull from growing, consequently, obstructing brain growth.

In August, Zack will be just a year old and he will be undergoing an 8 hour operation at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to correct it.  

The help and support we’ve received from the Alder Hey team throughout this difficult time, both before, during and after Zack’s operation, has been amazing and we’d like other families in similar situations to benefit from the same care and support that we’ve had.

The Alder Hey Imagine Appeal helps fund the care and support of over 200,000 children and young people every year and they need as much as possible to ensure that this can continue for people like us.  As our way of thanking them I’m planning a 10-mile walk along Macclesfield’s ‘Middlewood Way’ in August to try to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.
