As many of you know I ran the Great North Run last year to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service and although I was overtaken by Scooby Doo I have decided to do it again on 20th September 2009!! Having acquired a taste for the pain I will also be participating in the London Marathon on 26th April 2009!!
I have decided to use this page to raise funds for both events with all donations going to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The GNAAS provides emergency medical cover in the North of England and often is the first emergency service to reach those in need of assistance. My family has had first hand experience of using the GNAAS when my Dad was involved in an accident in July 2007 in which he sadly lost his life.
It costs £1.2 millon per year to run one helicopter. The GNAAS receives no government or lottery funding so every penny raised will make a huge difference. You can find out more at www.greatnorthairambulanceservice.co.uk
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great North Air Ambulance Service gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
A huge thankyou to all who donated last year, together with my sister we raised £3,500 - enough to fund one GNAAS lifesaving mission!!
Thanks for you support!
Alex.
