My story

Ever since seeing the look of exhaustion/relief/joy of my father's face as he crossed the finishing line, I have always wanted to run the London Marathon. Year after year, I have toyed with the idea only to create some sort of excuse or actually have a genuine reason not to do it. I have managed to run 3 half marathons so far since the aforementioned event, in Milton Keynes, Exeter and Christchurch (NZ), but there has always been an itching desire to do the real deal. I spent 15 months in New Zealand, Canada and Vietnam/Cambodia in 2010/2011 and I am now back in England with a steady job and plenty of time. No more excuses! I have managed to obtain a place in the London Marathon and I am raising money for Leukaemia CARE which is a fantastic cause and a charity with roots close to home in Worcester.

I would be very appreciative if you could give a donation no matter how big or small. Leukaemia CARE offer support to all people affected by leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma including the carers, families and patients themselves. Currently 26,000 people every year (5th most common form of cancer) are disgnosed with leukaemia, lymohoma or an allied blood disorder and with every pound raised, they can expand the range of services they can offer to help address the needs of the patients and their families.

As I write this, 2 weeks into my training, I have managed to clock up 12.7 miles already and I am genuinely looking forward to the training in the months ahead (even the frosty mornings!) and the mixed emotions I will feel when I cross the finishing line.
