Vila Maninga is working to establish a self-sufficient community project of the same name in rural Mozambique. The project has foster homes for orphans, a Primary school, a Christian training college, homes for the elderly, vocational skills training, a basic clinic, a farm and the beginnings of a eucalyptus plantation.

My story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Olive and I will be running together in a Half Marathon especially for dogs and their owners.

The route follows the Ridgeway from the start point at Charlton Clumps. Then to Wexland before turning westward to Salisbury Plain to the Bustard and then on to Stonehenge.

Vila Maninga is a great charity and I have become very attatched to it through years of personal involvement. In 2008 we visited the project and despite so much progress we were reminded just how many challenges they face every day just to meet the basic needs of the orphans and old people.

A note from Olive.... "most of the other dogs will be much bigger than me and will help their owners around the course... so please help me raise money to make it all worthwhile" ... oh and "woof woof"
