Between 9th and 26th July 2009, I will be trekking across Italy from Siena to Rome,  climbing mountains and volcanoes en route.  I am hoping to use this extraordinary experience before I go off to Veterinary College to raise money for the work of Orangutan Appeal UK.  During my visit to Borneo in 2006, I became aware of the plight of orangutans, which are seriously endangered because of pressure on their habitat arising from the international demand for palm oil.  The rehabilitation centre at Sepilok, which I was fortunate enough to see, is doing all it can to fight for these rare and intelligent creatures. I am really grateful for any support you can give!
