Walk the Walk is a grant making charity committed to raising funds for vital breast cancer causes. Every year thousands of women and men raise money for us by taking on one of our Power Walking challenges which include The MoonWalk London or Edinburgh and The SunWalk Bristol or Newcastle.

Angela and I started well with our training but, unfortunately, an old knee injury has prevented me from training for the last two weeks and I have been advised not to walk the whole 26.2 miles but aim to walk the 13.5 miles instead. I have a displaced kneecap and it's quite swollen and I'm taking anti-inflammatories.

UPDATE 11th May 2009: I have had to make the hard decision not to take part in this year's MoonWalk. My knee is still not 100% better and my ankle is swelling up with fluid when I try to walk anything more than a short distance at a gentle pace.

I'm very disappointed but being realistic. I hope those of you who have already sponsored me are happy for your sponsorship to stand. I'm sorry to let you down.

My neighbour, Angela is still going ahead with the full walk and I am supporting her all the way. Well done Angela!
