Welcome. Please help me to raise a significant amount for Matt Hampson.
Matt is a remarkable young man who, just as he was breaking into the England under-21 side, in fact while training with the side, suffered a terrifying accident, a dislocation of the neck, during a collapsed scrum. This left him paralysed from the neck down, but more determined from the neck up. Matt is now a quadriplegic, who needs support and assistance in all aspects of his life. This does not stop him, however, from devoting all of his energies into raising money to help other people in his position.
Nothing seems too big a challenge for Matt, so I wanted a big challenge for myself. I am walking from Launceston Rugby Club, in Cornwall, to Welford Road, in Leicester, to watch Tigers play Newcastle Falcons, on the 19th of September. That's more than 230 miles! As a 46 year old, 5' 2", mother of 2 grown-ups, I am obviously out of my depth! But am training hard and determined to complete the walk and raise the funds. Please support me in this venture by giving generously. All proceeds will go directly to the Matt Hampson Trust and our heartfelt thanks go out to the Professional Rugby Association for making this possible.
