My story

Rather than raise odds and ends of money from each marathon or event that I do I decided to set up a long-running webpage that will gather the donations I receive for each event in one place, all supporting 'Hope and Homes for Children'.

So far I have signed up for these events-

Tough Guy (http://www.toughguy.co.uk/c-underwater-tunnel.shtml): a cold, wet, muddy misery-fest. [COMPLETED! 2hrs 12. Bloomin' cold!]

Reading Half Marathon 2007. [COMPLETED! 1hr 22. Vomited]

London Marathon 2007: I hope to knock almost TWO HOURS off my best marathon time this year and break the 3 hour barrier. I should mention that my best time (4 hrs 52) was dressed as a rhino.[COMPLETED! 2hrs 58. Bloomin' hot! and painful...]

Trailwalker: a 60 mile, single-day run across the South Downs. Organised by the Gurkhas [COMPLETED! 16 hours. Feet in agony.]

The Great River Race: 22 miles in a Dragon boat down the River Thames. Dressed as gladiators. [COMPLETED! 2 hrs 35 Ouch! My arms are not used to exercise...]

The Original Mountain Marathon: 2 days running round the hills of Scotland and one of the wettest night's camping of my life. [Unfortunately our team had to drop out on the second day in the mountains due to injury]

The Devizes to Westminster 125 mile, non-stop canoe marathon (http://www.dwrace.org.uk/) [SORT of COMPLETED! Forced to retire after 99 miles and 28 hours for being too slow! Deeply painful, cold, miserable. Loved it.

Marathon des Sables 2008: A 6 day, 150 mile run across the Sahara desert carrying all your gear. (http://www.saharamarathon.co.uk/) [COMPLETED! 9th fastest Brit, 104th place overall. Broke my foot on Day 5]

Proposed marathons include:

The Wensleydale Triathlon.

The UK Ironman

A 24 hour, 42 peak 'Bob Graham' round in the Lake District

www.SOUTH.com - the longest unsupported polar journey in history.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hope and Homes for Children will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
