In August 2008 myself and five other volunteers from Manchester Metropolitan University are going to India to help on projects in the Children's Village; an orphanage in Guntur and the children's HIV/AIDS Hospice in Vizianagaram both in the Andra Pradesh area of the country. We will be assisting in basic English language teaching as well as developing and establishing creative play experiences for the children. The aim is to empower teachers and carers already working on both projects to continue these play experiences after we have returned home. If this pilot project is successful it will then become an annual volunteer project for MMU students. The six volunteers will cover the cost of our own flights, visa and other expences personally. The money raised through Just Giving and extra fundraising activities by the group will all go towards VESL which covers the cost of accommodation, food, insurance and also to people in the area in which we are working. Your money will allow us to help children in difficult circumstances. It will enable us to assist in these projects in achieving their own objectives as well as sharing our own ideas. There is no donation too small so please donate to those less fortunate...so please sponsor me now!!! Thankyou Ami Crinnion (Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Volunteers For Educational Support And Learning gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
