Amsterdame08

We're really pushing the boat out for this year's Amsterdame08 event! It's the 60th Anniversary of Marie Curie Cancer Care so we're taking 60 novice female cyclists all the way to Amsterdam and back to try to raise a massive £30,000 for the charity!

 We're going to be joined on our trip by Clare Frisby

Come and see us all off on Saturday 24th May at the York Designer Outlet!

 Julia Bradbury will be making an appearance at a pre-event publicity event the weekend before we leave to deliver tulips to a local Marie Curie Hospice

Help us to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care 

On the 24th May 08 we're taking 60 female cycling novices from York to Amsterdam, riding approximately 250 miles to raise money for Marie Curie. 

Cycling from York Designer Outlet to Hull past the Humber Bridge, we'll jump on a ferry to drink, dance and sleep our way to Rotterdam. Once in Holland we'll cycle along the coastline for miles, passing sand dunes, windmills, canals and fields of blooming tulips. We'll pass through the historic city of Harlaam to finish in the unique city of Amsterdam. Then we'll turn around and ride back again!

  • Sat 24th May - Cycle from York Designer Outlet to Hull (52 flat miles) stop for lunch in a pub on the way – take overnight Ferry - Party and Sleep on the boat.
  • Sun 25th May – Arrive Rotterdam . Cycle to Amsterdam (70 flat miles) - lunch on the way by the lake. Go out for the night in Amsterdam and sleep in a local hostel.
  • Mon 26th May – Depart Amsterdam and head back to Rotterdam past windmills, canals, etc (70 flat miles) – ferry home, party and sleep on the boat
  • Tues 27th May – Cycle from Hull to York - a different route, through some lovely little market towns, stop for lunch at a pub. (52 miles). Arrive at York , slightly tired having had a fab adventure and made some new close friends.
We're doing this to raise CASH!

Our 2007 Amsterslam event for Marie Curie raised over £10000!!!

This team are really gonna put themselves through it for 4 seriously tough days!!
