We're really pushing the boat out for this year's Amsterdame10 event! We're taking 60 female cyclists all the way to Amsterdam and back to try to raise a massive £30,000 for the charity! Help us to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care
On the 11th June 2010 we're taking 60 female cycling novices from York to Amsterdam, riding approximately 250 miles to raise money for Marie Curie.
Cycling from York Designer Outlet to Hull past the Humber Bridge, we'll jump on a ferry to Rotterdam. Once in Holland we'll cycle along the coastline for miles, passing sand dunes, windmills, canals and fields of blooming tulips. We'll pass through the historic city of Harlaam to finish in the unique city of Amsterdam. Then we'll turn around and ride back again!
* Fri 11th June - Cycle from York Designer Outlet to Hull (52 flat miles) stop for lunch in a pub on the way – take overnight Ferry.
* Sat 12th June – Arrive Rotterdam . Cycle to Amsterdam (70 flat miles) - lunch on the way by the lake. Go out for the night in Amsterdam and sleep in a local hostel.
* Sun 13th June – Recovery day.
* Mon 14th June – Depart Amsterdam and head back to Rotterdam past windmills, canals, etc (70 flat miles) – ferry home.
* Tues 15th June – Cycle from Hull to York - a different route, through some lovely little market towns, stop for lunch at a pub. (52 miles). Arrive at York , slightly tired having had a fab adventure and made some new close friends.
We're doing this to raise CASH!
Our 2007 Amsterslam event for Marie Curie raised over £10000!!!
The 2008 Amsterdame event raised over £38,000!!!
The 2009 Amsterdame event raised over £28,000!!!
This team are really gonna put themselves through it!!
