Hey Everyone, thanks for visiting our fundraising page for our London to Paris Cycle Challenge, 31st July- 3rd August 2009!
We are doing this challenge in aid of Claire House Children's Hospice. Claire House is a local charity and is also a charity very close to our hearts. Particularly so because the charity is named after my sister Claire Cain who sadly died in July 1989 aged just 9 years old, after losing a brave battle against cancer.
We wanted to do something different to help raise money for this deserving charity as this year is a special year for Claire House. In 2009 they are celebrating their 10th year of opening and in the current financial climate they need our help more than ever before.
It is also a very special year as Claire would have been 30 years old on the 31st July 2009, the day we will set off on our highly challenging 3-day ride starting at Tower Bridge, London. The 320km ride takes us from bustling London city centre, across the channel, through French countryside to the French capital Paris, where we finish at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
Although neither of us are particularly experienced riders, we are definately prepared to take on this challenge with your support. Numb bums, blisters and pulled muscles will all be worthwhile when we hit our target and help Claire House to continue with the fantastic job that they do of supporting terminally ill children and their families.
Please support us in anyway you can, any donation large or small is greatly appreciated and although we have set our target at £3000 we want to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Claire House Children's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us
Thank you for your support, Amy and Jen x
