Firstly a big thank-you to everyone who has donated so far!! It will really will keep me going during the 26.2Miles in 10 days time and help a charity that does some wonderful work. Guide Dogs receives no government funding for the guide dogs service and is entirely dependent on voluntary donations. The lifetime cost of a guide dog - from birth to retirement - is £49,800, so fundraising and donations are essential.
It means so much to me that through sponsorship I have a sense that people have faith in me to complete the 2010 London Marathon. It can be easy to doubt yourself when facing such an unknown physical challenge and I think half of my fear comes from the fact that I will be out there on my own come race day.
The support that you have all shown is amazing. When it gets tough on the day (as I'm sure it will) I will think of this, and peoples generosity towards a fantastic charity and their belief in me to finish will spur me on. I feel inspired to go out for my run now with a spring in my step!
10 days to go.....
