Drugsline offers schools education (this year we have delivered educational sessions to over 40,000 children), a freephone crisis and support line, a drop-in service, 121 counselling, aftercare groups and support groups for people who are affected by their own or someone else’s addiction. All services share the common goal of educating, encouraging and promoting a lifestyle of abstinence as well as providing high-quality, accessible services for local people and their families. We have been providing services for over 17 years and our unique approach owes much to dialogue with past and present users of the service and is always being reviewed to ensure we quickly meet the needs of whoever reaches out for help. At present the majority of our income is generated by donations and I do hope that you consider Drugsline a charity that you would like to support.

I am continuing to getting fitter and slimmer AND raising money for Drugsline and I continue to ask for your help.

Drugsline is an independent drugs crisis, information and support charity based in London. It provides free and confidential information and support for people with drugs and alcohol related issues, their families and friends.

Drugsline does amazing work around education into schools. Each year our team of schools workers reach over 40,000 school children to educate and inform them about drugs.

I have worked for Drugsline for over 8 years now as Senior Counsellor offering 1 to 1 appointments for people that are affected by drugs and alcohol. I have personally seen over 250 clients in the past few years. Some of these are addicts, some are problem users and some are the wives, girlfriends, husbands, mothers, fathers, children and friends of people affected by the devastating chaos that surrounds problematic substance misuse.

Many of the people I have seen were not aware of the facts regarding drugs and have repeatedly told me that if only they had known they may never have started.

Our dedicated team at Drugsline reaches over 40,000 school children to educate and inform them about drugs.

The majority of our funding comes from individual donations. Now at this time due to credit crunch financial support is needed more than at any other time in the history of Drugsline.

If you cannot think of anyone think about your children or grandchildren and ask yourself how you might feel if they became affected by drugs and became ill. Because that is what happens to many people - they do become ill and its a long hard road to recovery.
