Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have completed the challenge and walked from Winchester to Salisbury. Feet were sore, legs were aching, but feeling great for the money raised for a such a valuable charity, providing much needed support to those who need it. A thanks to all who donated.

Three years ago I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. At that time I started looking for resources to help me through my cancer journey. One of the resources I came across is the Cancer Buddies Network, which is a website set up in August 2006 by Jan. She found great comfort being able to share her cancer experiene with someone else who has been through the same journey. She wanted a place where others can share their cancer journeys with others begining, going through and finishing their own journeys. It welcomes all not just the patients, but carers, friends and relatives, providing a place of companionship and help through a buddy system and various forums.

I first came across the Cancer Buddies Network reading an article on the BBC News website where a lady in Dorset said how much it had helped her. I followed the link from the article and found a site that was warm and welcoming. What I liked about the site was its non specialisation, its very easy to become blinkered to your cancer, but the Cancer Buddies Network covers all cancers and you also get views from all sides, not just the patients, but those who are affected by someone's cancer. I like particularily the idea of being able to help others go through the cancer journey either as a buddy or by adding entries on the various forums.

As part of my journey I have decided to keep a diary chronicling from my first symptoms, through my treatments and day to day life living with prostate cancer. I placed this diary on the Cancer Buddies Network where I hope it is of help to others going through the same journey. I have found keeping this diary has been been great therapy and I am very grateful to Cancer Buddie Network allowing me to keep it.

I want to return something to Cancer Buddies Network, not for putting up with my entries, but for supplying a great service of providing buddies for those going through the cancer journey in one way or another. A very important service in my view with the support coming from those at the sharp end of the cancer. Please elp me support the  Cancer Buddies Network by donating to my page. Thank you.
