In the early spring of 2010 I will be undertaking a long distance cycle trek, which I have called 'In the Footsteps of T.E.Lawrence'.  This expedition will involve 1,000 miles of cycling in Syria and Jordan visiting sites associated with the career of Lawrence of Arabia.  I am a keen member of the T.E.Lawrence Society and this expedition will be the crowning of a long standing dream to visit Arabia.  Winston Churchill described Lawrence as one of the greatest beings alive in his time.

I hope to raise money for the Youth Hostel Association's 'Breaks4kids' fund which allows financially disadvantaged children to experience a character building activity break at a Youth Hostel with their peers.  Youth Hostels are a route into adventure for young people.  Lawrence was a member of the YHA in its formative years in the early 1930s.

Please note I will be pleased to cover all my own expenses on this expedition and will taking nothing out of the dontations.
