Here are some ideas of the gifts you can give to the people of Uchira, Tanzania on our behalf:
£10- School Meals- Health eating is very important, yet a school meal might be the only one these children get. This small donation is enough to cover a childs food for an entire year.
£15- School Uniform- This will help to buy school uniform for one pupil for a year whose parent can not afford because of life hardship .
£20- Poultry Project- Support a family business to generate income to change the family living standard with this poultry start up pack.
£25- Course in Bookkeeping- Help to train rural entrepreneurs in order to help them manage their businesses which in turn will help to improve their lives. This is enough to train one person.
£35- Sewing Machine- Tailoring offers the opportunity to contribute to family income. Provide one sewing machine to a family affected by HIV/AIDS
£50- One Years Secondary School Fees- This is enough for a years school fee for one student. The majority of children fail to continue with their studies because their parents can’t afford fees. Only primary education is free and everyone must pay to attend senior school.
£60- Kindergarten Package- This package is enough to put a child through all three years of kindergarten and supply them with the books and uniform they need. It also helps by freeing up the time of those who would otherwise be looking after the child.
£75- Business Startup- Provides local individuals and groups with grants to help get their enterprise off the ground.
£100- Agricultural Startup- Particularly important this year as there is a big drought. Provides a family with seeds, fertilisers and additional support through our sustainable agriculture project.
£200- Teacher Training- There is a chronic shortage of primary school teachers in Tanzania. Only £200 pays to train one teacher
£400- Secondary School Package for HIV/AID orphans- With HIV/AIDS a large problem in Tanzania those let orphaned need all the support they can get. Paying for the entire secondary school fees, as well as supplying them with uniform, books and any additional supplies they may need.
