Hello,
I have recently been accepted to run the London Marathon in April 2009 for a charity called Music in Hospitals (www.music-in-hospitals.org.uk), I am hoping to raise money for a very good cause and would greatly appreciate any donations whether its ‘an amount per mile’ or just a ‘general contribution’.
I am currently in training now which is proving harder than I thought with the distance I am having to run every week.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small is kindly accepted and if you would like to hear more about the charity or reasons behind why I am doing this 26.2 mile run then please don’t hesitate to ask.
Again, thank you in advance for any generosity.
Further information from my chosen Charity:
· To enable people in care to benefit from high quality live concerts throughout the UK, Music in Hospitals has to generate an annual income in excess of £1,000,000. The projected cost of a concert this year is £225 - so every £225 you raise from your London Marathon run means that a centre/school/hospital or hospice will be able to enjoy a live concert all to themselves.
· Research is showing that live music can assist the healing process, reduce pain, anxiety and depression and your sponsorship will help Music in Hospitals to create joy through live music for those people who need it most of all.
Quote from a Hospital - “Nurses were astonished to see the heart rate of a child attached to a heart monitor begin to return to normal as she listened to ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ sung at her bedside.”
