My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

In April of this year our 2 year old neice Phoebe was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. She has been in Yorkhill hospital enduring months of treatment and is now at home still receiving further treatment.

If you Google "neuroblastoma stage 4" or visit www.phoebemacaskill.com you will be able to learn alot more about the disease.

On the 11/12/08 Chris and Rona(Phoebe's parents) received the results of Phoebe's scan which was clear and so means the cancer is in remission which is fantastic news!  However, The 2simple Trust still  needs your money, if not for Phoebe in the case of getting pioneering preventative treatment, for the next dear wee child and family that suffers the consequences of neuroblastoma.

Over the course of the last year I have been letting my hair grow and along with this have grown a beard.  Its not really had a trim so what you see is about 14 months growth (or neglect, depending on how you look at it).  If you want to veiw the progress then you can visit www.bebo.com/kawasandy where I have put up a couple of photos.

I'm not too fussed as to whether it comes off now or stays on.  So, in acknowledgment of a contingent that seem to like it and in pursuit of raising as much funds as possible I'm making it so you can pledge money for it to grow for another year or pledge money for it to come off.  Just pledge what you can and put in the comments box whether you wish me to carry on growing it or would rather I took it off.  Whichever amount of money is the greater by tuesday the 6th of january will determine what I do.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The 2Simple Trust - The Phoebe Macaskill Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
