This is a staggering amount, thank you all for your very generous donations! I really enjoyed the walk especially as it helped raise lots of money for the Cancer Day Unit.
Many of you will know that cancer has really impacted on my family, taking my wife 5 years ago, and then one son being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia 18 months ago. Certainly for us 1 in 3 have developed cancer.
I did an 8 mile local walk on May 6th for which I invited sponsorship. It is a start in supporting those who have supported us. All my children were born in St Richard's and my son has had cause to use the Cancer Unit at St Richard's, where the staff have been tremendous. One day soon I will do something for Ruth Myles Unit at St George's where my son has received the majority of his treatment - but for now this happened and it's local.
