In October I will be running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London raising money (and awareness) for The Bone Cancer Research Trust.
Those ex-Raggies out there know our close friend Toby Atkinson, who has been fighting bone cancer now for over two years. This charity, for obvious reasons, is one close to his heart and we are both very appreciative for any sponsorship however large or small that you give.
Donating couldn't be easier - just click below and follow the instructions (plus tick the gift aid option and we get extra money back from your tax that Gordon Brown would otherwise take). I have a minimum target of £350 that I have to raise but I would like to think I can get this much higher.
The Bone Cancer Research Trust was formed in 2005 with a goal to promote research into the causes and treatment of Primary Bone Cancer, and in particular of Osteosarcoma and Ewing’s Sarcoma.
Primary bone cancer often goes undetected for months or years, often being treated as a sports injury or growing pains by both patients and doctors. By raising awareness the chances of early diagnosis will be greatly increased.
As primary bone cancer is one of the rarer forms of cancer, it does not get the publicity and funding that is generated by other cancers. However, for the 4000 people who will develop these cancers during the next 10 years, research into the causes and treatment is vital to improve their chance of a successful outcome.
So please sponsor me now!
