April 24th update
3 hours, 74 minutes! I have done it! Thank you all for your support, generous sponsoring and encouragements... They meant a lot and made a difference in those difficult miles towards the end! It was a really enjoyable race... up until the 16th mile. Miles 18 to 23 were probably the hardest I ever ran, and the last 3 were all about visualizing the finishing line and getting it over and done with. I have recovered fairly well despite struggling to get up and down stairs the following 2 days, and the ribs didn't cause me too much trouble (probably because the aching was more intense elsewhere!)
The London marathon is a fantastic event, the atmosphere was brilliant, and although I will not commit too quickly to running another one, I may well be tempted once again in the future. Again, a big thanks to all of you for your support, your contribution is going to make a real difference for a great cause!

April 1st update Only a 12 days left… I have been getting a few of the hard miles in, had some injury scares such as some bruised ribs from foolishly messing about playing rugby but having had a week off, I’m back to gentle running again. I have definitely not peaked too early (!).
Looking forward to some carbo loading over the coming days.
Thanks to all of you who have already sponsored me and for anyone that is thinking of sponsoring me, any funding large or small gratefully received!
Think of me on the 13th and I will do my best for Kate and all of you!

--------------------------------
Dear all,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I am running my first marathon to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a chosen charity of a work colleague, Kate Tinworth, who passed away on November 29th this year after a brave battle with Leukaemia. The Anthony Nolan Trust works to find and match bone marrow transplant donors with Leukaemia patients and carries out vital research in this key area.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Anthony Nolan Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Andrew
