Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

At FORCE Cancer Charity we believe that anyone diagnosed with cancer deserves the best possible treatment and professional support, face to face and close to home. We have a Cancer Support and Information Centre in Exeter for patients and their loved ones.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page, the picture opposite is perhaps not my best side but it was taken before the 2008 London Marathon where I was meant to be on Safari. The idea was to chase the Rhinos down The Mall which would have been fun!

I came up with the idea because during the Autumn I spoke to Steve Knightley (Show Of Hands) and mentioned the possiblity of running the London Marathon for Jack. However, it was the ward and charity behind the scenes that needs the funds according to Steve.

So there are two cubicles on Bramble Ward which are specifically for Paediatric Oncology patients. Both cubicles need updating / upgrading. The team would love to be able to purchase two flat screen televisions and Wii for the youngsters comfort when they are at the hospital.

I shall be wearing a FORCE T-shirt kindly supplied by the Charity and my running number is 52804. My training so far is going OK apart from a slight pain in my left knee. Going to have to take care on that front.

However on the 5th April I am doing the Three Tower Challenge in Reading which means walking 42 miles under 13 hours. If I complete this then the Marathon will be simple, I hope!!!

So get those credit cards out and lets raise some cash. If we can raise £1000 then the ward will get their TVs and Wii.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: FORCE gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
