July 7th 2005 saw the worst terrorist attack ever to happen on British soil. Over fifty people were killed as a result of the four explosions that took place around London's transport network, and many more were injured- scarred physically, psychologically, or both.
Shortly after the tragic events, London mayor Ken Livingstone set up the London Bombings Relief Fund, a charity to help support those affected by the attacks. In an effort to raise funds for the charity, the Tube Challenge 2005 has been organised.
Chris Presswell and Andrew Toynbee will be participating in the first ever mass Tube Challenge, the aim of which is to visit all 275 stations on London's Underground network in one day, raising money from sponsorship in as appropriate a way as possible. The event also gives participants the chance to stick 2 fingers up at those responsible for the atrocities, highlighting one fact:
London is not afraid.
Please sponsor us for as much (or as little) as you can afford. We really do need your money, and every penny WILL make a difference.
UK taxpayers donating through this site will find that not only does their donation go directly to the charity, but that it is increased by 28% tax in Gift Aid- at no extra cost to you.
Thank you for your support.
