Our personal message:

Welcome to our page, and thanks for supporting our efforts online. Heres a breif history of ourselves our reasons for running, and why we chose to support The Disabilities Trust.

On a wet April morning sat motionless in the comfort of our armchairs at home watching the TV coverage of last years Flora London Marathon, with all the emotions of the event churning around inside, we both decided that it was time to fulfill a life long dream and join the thousands of runners out there on the streets of london.

We have both been blessed with our health and each other for as long as we can remember. In fact we meet at school about 7 years ago during a ski trip and have been mad about each other since. Fitness and excercise has always been a huge part of our lives and Gem managed to qualify as a Physiotherapist in the summer of 2004, after a long spell at University in Hertfordshire. She now works for the Worthing and Southlands Trust in West Sussex, another dream achieved. We now live in our first home in Worthing and have been there since November 2004.
All of these personal acheivements have been made so much easier with the help of others, and in a way that is what The Trust is all about, acheiving goals with the help of others.

It was time for us to give something back!!!
We have both been envolved with The Disabilities Trust for several years and have followed the work and support that they provide hundreds of people every day. Therefore it seemed the obvious choice to apply to run as Golden Bond runners for them in 2005. In November 2004 we received confirmation that we had been selected to run for The Trust. We were over the moon, The adventure had started, fundraising and training were to be our lives, before, during, and after work, 24/7 from now on until the 17th April 2005. We have both always felt that we were given so many opportunities to develop and progress ourselves in everything that we did, so helping the Trust to develop other peoples lives is a worthy acheivment in its self. We are training towards a time of 3hrs 30mins and are feeling well up on pace at the moment. Our training program consists of 4 sessions in the gym, with a rest day on Friday, a long run on a saturday, and half the distance of the run of the Saturday on the Sunday. Gem has done a Sponsored massage day and has another 2 days planned, and we have managed to get Wintons Fishery in West Sussex to allow us to host a 48hour non stop fishing competition, in the middle of March. Please help us to give something back to The Trust and the people whos lives will be so drasticly improved with your support. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Disabilities Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us today! Many thanks for your support. Gemma and Andy
